We are delighted to present our\u00a0<strong>collaboration with Valentino Beauty<\/strong>&#8216;s Retail Marketing team. The brand has been developing custom products for Chinese and Middle-Eastern markets for several years now.\u00a0<strong>Lunar New Year, Chinese Valentine\u2019s Day&#8230; Whether for bank holidays, religious holidays, or just cultural ones, Valentino Beauty forges close ties with its communities<\/strong>\u00a0(on Instagram and beyond), celebrating traditions and customs while respecting codes and values.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Tremel, part of the Valentino Beauty team, told us all about the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>Eid set\u2019s creation process<\/strong>:<\/span> \u201cTo mark the occasion this year, Andrea Tarella, an Italian artist, drew a stylised\u00a0<strong>Ramadan night<\/strong>\u00a0lit by fanous, the traditional lanterns. His yellow-gold drawing was the starting point for creating our sets.\u201d<br \/>\nIt was at this point that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrcartonnagenumerique.com\/en\/mock-up-lab\/\"><strong>MR Mock-up Lab<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0joined the party. \u201cI work with them because\u00a0<strong>they\u2019re clearly industry leaders in artwork and mock-ups<\/strong>. I trust them, they\u2019ve already experimented with so many things in this field. I know they\u2019ll<strong>\u00a0suggest the best technical solution and work hard on the production layouts<\/strong>, which is crucial not only from a\u00a0<strong>creative<\/strong>\u00a0perspective, but also for steering\u00a0<strong>local production<\/strong>\u00a0with the utmost precision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrcartonnagenumerique.com\/en\/artworks\/\"><strong>MR Artworks<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0started with the artist\u2019s drawing and produced\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>a technical document<\/strong><\/span>. We\u00a0<strong>isolated zones<\/strong>\u00a0to be able to work on the presence of gold and glossy gilding in CMYK colour mixing. Next came\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>test prints<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrcartonnagenumerique.com\/en\/mock-up-lab\/\"><strong>MR Mock-up Lab<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<strong>calibrating<\/strong>\u00a0and dialling in the perfect amount of sophistication and illumination to bring to the decor.<br \/>\n\u201cWe worked on\u00a0<strong>spot colour, CMYK combinations<\/strong>\u00a0and the ideal ink coverage for maintaining intensity on\u00a0<strong>uncoated paper<\/strong>. We also used\u00a0<strong>diamond-tip embossing<\/strong>, with ridges that provide structure for the Valentino Beauty logo\u2019s volume and the brand\u2019s iconic studs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aside from creating the set, Valentino Beauty wanted to\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>create a project that\u2019s reproducible on a local level<\/strong><\/span>. Three markets were concerned: Morocco, South Africa, and the Middle East. \u201cDue to the small quantities, we chose local production, which also avoids transport.\u00a0<strong>We sent off the\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrcartonnagenumerique.com\/en\/\"><strong>MR<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0mock-ups and artworks<\/strong>, along with technical specifications with colour refs, the DON\u2019Ts, etc. For the good of the project, we also allowed a bit of leeway in following the mock-up. For example, we chose to add varnish to make sure the colours were protected against friction.\u00a0<strong>Working with experts like MR is a boon for nailing down the project.<\/strong>\u00a0On top of that, they\u2019re available and respond quickly. Collaborations are always enjoyable, with no ugly surprises.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We feel the same way.
